For four decades, many libraries have followed the CONTU guidelines to define what constitutes a “substitute for a subscription” under Copyright Law when filling borrowing copy requests for their users. The CONTU guidelines are not law, however, and libraries can develop their own ILL guidelines for copyright compliance. Come learn how Georgetown University Library and Ohio State University Libraries developed and implemented their own policies to conform with section 108 of Copyright Law.
