Join us for a refresher and brief overview of Copyright Law (CCL), CONTU Guidelines (CCG), Fair Use, in the daily workflow of interlibrary loan, as well as basic approaches to ILL borrowing and lending. Borrowers will hear how to easily determine which copyright compliance to use for each copy request so it will be correctly indicated before reaching the lender. Lenders will also hear of their responsibility in supplying copies from print and electronic sources. Fair Use is not an infringement of the law, it is allowed by the law. Four factors that determine whether a copy request is a candidate for Fair Use designation will be presented along with a simple checklist to assist in that determination. Time will be allowed for questions and discussion from those in attendance.
