OCLC Resource Sharing Conference 2019

For too long books which arrive via Interlibrary Loan have had to live separately from those books patrons check out on their main library account. This presentation will look at the integration between an ILL system (ILLiad) and a LSP system (Alma) to enable seamless communication via NCIP between the two services using the ILLiad Alma NCIP Client Addon. The presentation will explore the initial installation in Illiad and Alma, and then move on to the testing and implementation phases and the issues encountered and overcome. Processing workflows and potential policy choices, and their ramifications, will be discussed. The problems faced and solutions found will be elucidated, so as to provide potential help for other libraries contemplating, or already on, the ILLiad/Alma NCIP integration path.
